MICHWA CHW Training Certifcation Program | Virtual Course

Everyday Life Consulting providing the MiCHWA Community Health Worker (CHW) online training. Successful completion of the program does not guarantee employment but does enhance your employability in the community health worker profession. Included in training is a one year membership to MiCHWA's registry.

Class Time: 8 am – 5 pm (30 Minute Lunch)
 
What is required for the MiCHWA CHW Training Program? Training is comprised of 126 hours, (which includes 25 hours for independent self-study) Have a high school diploma or GED as a minimum Good oral and written communication skills Independent work in community setting (additional 40 hours), if not already employed in a CHW role.

Description: The curriculum is designed to train front line health workers to provide culturally responsive services in Michigan communities. Each of eight [8] CHW core competencies are presented in modules that promote the development of skills needed to become gainfully employed as a community health worker and enhance the knowledge base of those already employed. The internship consists of field experiences in local agencies where the focus is for the student to apply and integrate their course work into practice. CHW’S who are currently employed will complete internship at their place of work. Participants will need to complete 20 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every two years and annually renew membership on the MiCHWA CHW Registry ($30 per year).
